Welcome!

Welcome to Academy of the Holy Names, where we are proud to offer an excellent, personalized education for your child. As part of the Holy Names experience, your daughter’s intelligence will be respected and her spirit nurtured in a small school environment where she will be known and appreciated for the person who she is.

Holy Names offers a level of individual attention that is rarely found in other schools. No other school in the Capital Region offers an all-girls, Catholic education. Only a select number of schools in the country offer class sizes of 15 students on average and a 7:1 student to teacher ratio. Few schools offer a weekly one-on-one meeting with a dedicated advisor or a college counseling program with a proven matriculation record as successful as AHN. We provide a caring, supportive, student-focused environment in which girls’ skills, knowledge, and values are developed, and where they are taught the importance of applying their abilities to make a difference in the world.

The school’s Latin motto, Esse Quam Videri, "To Be, Rather Than to Seem," speaks to our community’s commitment to authenticity and integrity. For students confronted with pressures in an increasingly superficial society, there is no better message we can convey to young women than to identify, enhance, and solidify one’s true authentic self.

Our efforts in this regard are informed by our Catholic identity, which reminds us that the human person is a gift from God, who loves us for who we are and who we can become. Our inclusive community welcomes all faith traditions that our families may observe, and all will find a welcoming, loving home at Academy of the Holy Names.

We encourage you to explore our website, and better yet, visit Holy Names and witness this transformative environment for yourself.
