  • Step 1: Online Application

    Complete the online application. The online application includes biographical information, a student questionnaire, and an application fee of $40.
  • Step 2: Register for the Entrance/Scholarship Exam

    The Entrance Exam is given in November and March. There are several academic scholarships available to students entering Grades 6 and 9.  These scholarships are based solely on scores from the November exam.  

    All students who have submitted an application or attended an Open House are automatically registered to take the exam.
  • Step 3: Schedule a Shadow Visit

    Prospective students are encouraged to spend a day at Holy Names by shadowing a current student.  While on campus, they will attend classes, meet our students and teachers, and complete an interview with the Admissions Director.  Please contact the Admissions Office at 518-438-7895, ext. 202, or email, to schedule a shadow visit.

  • Q: Where do Holy Names graduates go to college?

    College placement is 100%.  Students graduate from Holy Names with a solid academic background, support from the Holy Names community, and the confidence to go to college and beyond.  Our girls go to a variety of colleges and universities throughout the country and internationally.  Our experienced College Guidance Office has relationships with the admissions officers and look to provide our students with the best fit for college, taking into consideration many factors.  For a list of college acceptances, see the College Counseling page.  
  • Q: What are the class sizes at Holy Names?

    In the High School, class sizes range from ten to twenty students in all academic subjects.  In the Middle School, classes range from ten to sixteen in all academic subjects
  • Q: Does Holy Names offer any special academic programs?

    In the Middle School, students complete Algebra 1 by the end of 8th Grade so they can start Geometry when they enter high school.  Also, they take Spanish 1 or French 1 in 8th grade.  An advanced science course is also available to 8th graders who are recommended by their science teacher. 
     In the High School, AP (Advanced Placement) and University in the High School courses offer college credit.  Our Science Research Program provides motivated students 3 years of unmatched, hands-on, guided research experience.

  • Q: Does Holy Names offer scholarships or financial aid?

    Yes. There are academic scholarships that are based on the November Entrance Exam. Also, there are scholarships and financial aid of various amounts for qualified students who otherwise might not be able to attend AHN. See the Financial Aid page for more information.
  • Q: Is there bus transportation to Holy Names?

    Yes. Most area school districts provide bus service to Holy Names. Also, there is private Northway transportation services for student in the Clifton Park/Saratoga County area.  This service is provided by Christian Brothers Academy (CBA). See the Tuition page for details.
