COVID-19 Drop-off and Retrieval Protocols for Students Spring 2020
As we complete the school year, we will allow students access to the school building to drop-off school property and to pick up personal property. We will do so according to guidelines from state and local authorities to assure the health and safety of our students and our staff, asking them to arrive symptom-free, wear appropriate face covering and gloves, and maintain physical distancing. We will also take their temperature upon arrival. Click here to see the detailed procedure and schedule for student access to the school.

Friday, March 20, 10:00 a.m. Attention parents of seniors: Mrs. Spiro has received information that most colleges have moved the deadline to commit from May 1 to June 1. However, you should contact the colleges your daughter is considering by visiting their website, calling (although they probably are working remotely), or sending an e-mail.

As I shared yesterday, Governor Cuomo issued an executive order requiring all schools in New York state to be closed for at least the next two weeks. In keeping with the most recent dates of closure the governor announced, Academy of the Holy Names will remain closed through Wednesday, April 1. We will re-open on Thursday, April 2 unless the governor issues another executive order directing that schools remain closed for an additional period of time.
In an attempt to keep you as informed as possible during this very challenging time, we have added a tab to our website COVID-19 Updates, accessible from the home page top menu. In this section of the website you will find the most up-to-date information on the virus, school events (cancellations/postponements), and information regarding distance learning and technical support.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions/concerns.
As always you are in my prayers.
God bless you,

I trust this finds you well. Late Monday morning, Governor Cuomo closed all schools in the state for at least 2 weeks from March 16 - 27, 2020. At this time we have no further information from the governor or the department of health to share with you. Also, please note that we do not have any known cases of coronavirus in our community.
Today we had time to further prepare for the transition from in-class learning to remote learning. Our faculty and staff are well equipped to continue their role in educating your daughters. Please check your email regularly as we will send out information as it becomes available. In particular, please check your messages for an email that Mrs. Musto will be sending out later today regarding the start of remote learning classrooms.
Our teachers look forward to welcoming your daughters to class at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday morning, March 17th.
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
God bless you, Phyllis Morrison, Ph.D. Associate Head of School
