in May 2019 for the Invest. Inspire. Ignite Capital Campaign. As our architects at CSARCH worked diligently to refine the design for the secure vestibule and façade, we became aware that this new entryway could provide additional functionality—a gathering place for students inside or in an enclosed courtyard outside, a light-infused space to display student artwork, a welcoming reception area to host events. That process led to an expansion of the original scope of the project with an increase in its cost. Thus, we raised our goal for the Invest. Inspire. Ignite Capital Campaign to $3 million, and, because of the generous support already received from our donors and resulting momentum, we are well on our way to achieving that goal.
This academic year, our students and faculty have the privilege to be able to use the North Classroom Wing, which will now be known as St. Joseph’s Hall, in gratitude to the generosity of the Picotte and Clark Families. St. Joseph’s Hall features eight state-of-the-art classrooms, technology lab, and a re-imagined space for The Judith Smith Physics Lab, named in honor of a generous alumna who developed a passion for science and math at Holy Names.
Next summer will bring phase two of the project, which will provide Academy of the Holy Names with a new secure entryway space and gallery. This will be a welcoming space for all students, families, alumnae, and friends of AHN as they walk through the doors of the school and will be completed by the fall of 2020.
